Writing a Feature Film Requires Strength, Commitment & Persistence to Cross the Finish Line
I've been writing my whole life. To date, I've published 19 books across my two Author platforms, have hundreds of journals filled and hundreds of GBs of digital words. At Uni, decades ago, I wrote a script about a woman being born into several lives. I've written several short films since, and begun many other scripts.
Yesterday, I finished writing the 1st draft of my feature film script - 'Violet' - which is also about a woman being born across different lifetimes.
I was 14 when I knew I wanted to write scripts as well as books - and while I did write that original script back in my teens, this one feels more like I've completed something important to me.
It took dedication, determination and a strong desire to finish. It also took passion, organisation and imagination. Writing is such a beautiful way to express ourselves and explore our creativity. I love the idea that there's even a small chance of this script being turned into another creative medium - that of a visual, experiential movie.
Whether you're writing a book, your journal, a film or a series, writing is usually a solo expedition - it's personal and private. Even if your work gets read, published, recorded, or made into a film or series, there's very little face-time between a writer and those that end up reading, listening to, or watching your work.
The act of writing is a reclusive one. And, in my opinion, nowhere near celebrated enough. A writer creates from nothing (essentially) - it's a blank page, or 120 for a film, or 240+ for a novel, and an idea.
We turn an inspiration, a thought, an idea into something tangible and comprehensive. It is an artform for hermits, alchemists and self-motivated creatives.
If you're a writer - I want to congratulate you on your dedication, persistence and courage to embark on a journey of building worlds, sharing ideas, expressing beauty, turning energy and ether into ink & GBs.
It takes both trust and steel, listening and thinking, organisation and flow.
Well done!

Wild Woman!
Wild Woman Book Out Now!
I’ve been in my light-filled cave working on ‘Wild Woman’.
I started this book back in 2016, when we moved to Tullah, on the West Coast of Tasmania.
I’ve whittled it down from 347 pages to a modest 287 pages and 99 chapters.
Now, both the eBook and paperback versions are available.
I wrote it for any and every introverted, extroverted, disenfranchised, neurodivergent, neurotypical, marginalised, multipotentialite, multifaceted, or misunderstood woman/person who's felt judged, smalled or constrained by society or even themselves.
I cover everything from sovereignty and equality to dancing and biophilia, and much more – it is 99 chapters!
I’d love for you to check it out and read it…
